Eat a Good Meal: Never get tattooed on an empty stomach. Eating a solid meal before your appointment stabilizes your blood sugar, which helps prevent dizziness and makes sitting through the tattoo much easier.

Hydrate and Avoid Alcohol: Drink plenty of water the day before. Avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment, as they can thin your blood and cause excessive bleeding, which affects the ink settling.

Dress Comfortably: Wear loose-fitting clothes that allow easy access to the area getting tattooed. If you’re getting a leg tattoo, wear shorts. If it’s a shoulder piece, a tank top is perfect.
